Animal Health Center offers a variety of care services for your cows and calves, acting as a partner in keeping your herd healthy and thriving. Cow, Calf, and Herd Health Services
- Bull Soundness Exams:
- Check eyes, feet, and body condition score
- Measure and record scrotal circumference
- Palpate external and internal structures and look for visual defects
- Check semen for quality shape and mobility
- Collect samples for trich testing
- Pregnancy exams: We offer palpation or ultrasound exams. Ultrasounds are best at 30-120 days from pregnancy.
- Assist in setting up artificial insemination calendars and perform services in-house and at your farm.
- Cowherd vaccination protocols
- Nutritional issue assistance
- Explanation and assistance of water and feed testing. Help send off samples and provide a ration calculator for winter rations.
- Help with cow inventories via Excel spreadsheets, adding sheets for each pregnancy check, or addition to your inventory. This helps track trends in your herd.
Animal Health Center offers in-house testing for BVD PI by either blood sample or ear notch at our sister clinic, Tri-County Veterinary Center in Herington, KS. We provide kits for testing your cattle. If you are outside our local area, we can mail your supplies, or you can pick up tests through your local Animal Health International representative.
