Jessica Laurin, DVM grew up north of Marion, KS, attending Centre High School and Kansas State University. During veterinary school, Dr. Laurin spent a summer in New York as an intern in the pharmacology department at Cornell University. After graduating in 1993, Dr. Laurin spent 2 years in Meade, Kansas with a feedyard consulting practice, and 1 year in Sublette, Kansas in a mixed animal practice. In the summer of 1996, Dr. Laurin moved to Marion to start up the Animal Health Center of Marion County. Dr. Laurin enjoys mixed animal practice, especially the diversity of the practice. John Laurin, her husband, attends nursing school and is a part of the Army National Guard. They have 2 children, Anna and Jordan.
Dr. Laurin is an active member of the Academy of Veterinary Consultants, currently serving as Chairman of the Policy and Procedures Commitee. Dr. Laurin has been asked to speak at several national veterinary meetings, including the Western Veterinary Conference, the Oregon State Veterinary Conference, and the AABP. She has been featured in Drover's Journal and the Bovine Veterinarian.
Dr. Rebecca Erwin joined our staff December, 2005. She grew up in Gardiner, Kansas. It may be close to Kansas City, but she grew up a country girl. She enjoys mixed animal practice. Some of her interests in the practice include equine reproductive work, and small ruminants - goats, sheep, llamas and alpacas. She has great surgical skills, her handling skills with animals are very comfortable, and she likes to work with people. Her husband, Cory, works for Middle Creek Ranch.
